ALWAYS READY
TO HELP.
We’re only as good as our team.
And for this reason, we listen to our employee’s needs and encourage them to share their knowledge to help their colleagues improve. We’re dedicated to helping our team achieve their best and build their confidence; from LGV licenses, NPORS or LGV CPC Operators courses, we take great pride in financially assisting them to gain new qualifications and as a result strengthen the already solid base that Brunel has been built on.

Brian Venables
OWNER
Having worked for Brunel from the age of 14, Brian has grown and evolved with the Company. He became MD in 2018, following his father’s retirement, and his hands-on approach ensures that we continue to grow, while delivering the high-quality service Brunel is known for.

Eleanor Venables
DIRECTOR OF FINANCE
After a successful solo accounting career Eleanor joined the family business in 2019 taking responsibility for HR & Finance across the whole Group. An integral part of the team, Eleanor supports our staff and is a driving force in pushing the Group forward.

KEVIN SKEELS
TRANSPORT MANAGER
After completing 24 years in the military, moving from pillar to post, Kevin has finally settled down in Plymouth with his wife, Katie & three children, Jess, Ruby & Oliver. Kevin’s first appointment outside of the services is with us here at Brunel, and we are delighted to have him on board.
Kevin has adopted his skills of a hands-on approach, drive & determination to ensure the companies ever growing fleet is in good hands.
With his background in fitness and comradery Kevin has even started a Brunel Bootcamp twice a week to encourage team building as well as maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Tom Smith
SENIOR WORKSHOP MANAGER
A man of few words, Senior Workshop Manager Tom Smith can usually be found elbow deep in grease, keeping the Brunel cogs turning. With 20 years experience within the industry, we are yet to find something that he can’t repair. His knowledge and time are simply invaluable.

Luke Chapman
GENERAL FOREMAN
Following a snapped achillies in 2019, Luke, known to his team as ‘Chappie’ was forced to prematurely end his professional rugby career at Plymouth Albion RFC. Luke joined Brunel and brought with him some of rugby’s core values; teamwork, respect and discipline. Now General Foreman Luke ensures that the Brunel site runs safely and smoothly producing the highest quality products.

Max Venables
DIRECTOR OF PLYMOUTH ALBION RFC
Max has worked across all sectors of the business, but the majority of this time is now focused on his new role in the Group as MD of Plymouth Albion RFC. As family businesses go, he remains a key part of Brunel’s continued success.
ACHIEVEMENT, REWARDED.
It’s not all work and no play for the Brunel Recycling team! Whether it’s a steak night, or a hospitality day at the Plymouth Albion RFC (of whom we have been proud sponsors since 2016). We believe that achievements should be recognised and rewarded.
